Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cut 2 lbs sirloin steak into 1 inch cubes and place in a large bowl. Season with 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Toss well and let sit for 15 to 20 minutes for deeper flavor.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and melt 2 tablespoons butter. Sear the steak cubes in batches for 1 to 2 minutes per side until browned. Do not overcrowd the pan. Transfer to the slow cooker.
  3. In the same skillet, melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Add 1 sliced onion and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until softened. Stir in 4 minced garlic cloves and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup beef broth and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the steak in the slow cooker. Add the onion and garlic mixture on top.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours until steak is fork tender. Avoid lifting the lid during cooking.
  6. Stir gently before serving and garnish with 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley. For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water and add during the last 30 minutes.

Notes

  • Sirloin works best for tender results without excess fat.
  • Let the steak rest with seasoning before searing for deeper flavor.
  • Do not skip browning for the richest taste.
  • Add a cornstarch slurry if you prefer thicker gravy.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
