Ingredients

  • Shrimp 1 pound peeled and deveined
  • Butter 6 tablespoons
  • Olive oil 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic 4 cloves minced
  • Shallots 1 small diced
  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
  • Red pepper flakes 1 pinch
  • White wine or broth 1/2 cup
  • Parsley 2 tablespoons chopped
  • Pasta 12 ounces cooked


Instructions

  1. Boil pasta until al dente and reserve pasta water.
  2. Sauté garlic and shallots in butter and olive oil.
  3. Add shrimp and cook until pink.
  4. Pour in wine or broth then add lemon juice and red pepper flakes.
  5. Swirl in butter to finish the sauce.
  6. Toss pasta with the sauce adding pasta water if needed.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the shrimp.
  • Add lemon zest for extra brightness.
  • Use broth instead of wine if preferred.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes for more spice.
