Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slider rolls
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Slice 12 slider rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom half on a lined sheet pan.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat cook 1 lb ground beef for 5 to 7 minutes breaking it apart. Add 1 diced onion and 2 minced garlic cloves then cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until softened. Season with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp black pepper and drain excess grease.
  3. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the bottom rolls. Layer 6 slices provolone cheese evenly over the warm beef so it begins to melt.
  4. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese. Brush the tops with 3 tbsp melted butter mixed with 1 tbsp chopped parsley for extra flavor and color.
  5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until cheese is fully melted and tops are golden brown. For extra browning bake uncovered during the last 5 minutes.
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing along the roll lines. Serve warm for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • You can substitute thinly sliced ribeye for ground beef for a more traditional texture.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor and texture.
  • Cover loosely with foil if tops brown too quickly while baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
