Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz shell pasta
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook 12 oz shell pasta until just tender then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 lb ground beef breaking it apart and cooking until fully browned.
  3. Add chopped onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until softened then add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in 2 tbsp tomato paste and cook for 1 minute then add 1 cup tomato sauce and 1 cup beef broth and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Lower heat and slowly stir in 1 cup heavy cream until the sauce becomes smooth.
  6. Season with 1 tsp Italian seasoning salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Add cooked pasta and mix well then stir in 1 cup Parmesan cheese until melted and thickened.
  8. Remove from heat let rest for 2 minutes and serve warm.

  • Use full fat cream for best texture.
  • Add extra broth when reheating.
