Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana (mashed)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)
  • Extra banana slices for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the banana in a small bowl until mostly smooth.
  3. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  5. Stir in the mashed banana.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  8. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  9. Scoop dough onto a lined baking sheet and top with banana slices.
  10. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden on the edges.
  11. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
