Ingredients

  • 1 lb ziti pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley


Instructions

  1. Boil ziti in salted water until al dente then drain.
  2. Heat olive oil and brown sausage breaking it apart evenly.
  3. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in tomato paste crushed tomatoes seasoning salt and pepper and simmer 10 minutes.
  5. Mix pasta with sauce until fully coated.
  6. Layer pasta ricotta and mozzarella in a baking dish finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
